Modern Slaughterhouse located in Juja town with a capacity of slaughtering 600 and 2000 cows and goats/sheep per day respectively. The built up area of the main building is over 2000sq ft.
The building also houses compartments for red offal, rough offal, hides and skins, confirmation room, steel stunning box, detention room, cold/freezer, laboratory, manager's office and strong room.
The area set aside as the holding corrals has a capacity of 1000 and 3000 cows and small animals respectively. A modern waste water plant comprising bar screen, grease trap and main lagoon measuring 1500sq ft is in place.
The slaughterhouse is Halal compliant and is built according to standards set in Legal notice no.110 of Laws of Kenya. The facility will be operational from mid December 2012.
